- Read up on what work is taking place, how long it’s due to last and assess what impact it will have on your premises. Look out for communications about the works and find a point of contact if you have any questions.
- Will there be any impact to how your staff get to work, how your suppliers make deliveries or how your customers get to your premises? If so then early communication will help smooth the way.
- Can you do more with digital? If you haven’t already then start collecting email addresses for your customers so you can sell or market to them online. Consider starting or working on any social media channels you have and updating your website.
- Are there opportunities for collaboration? Speak with your other local businesses and see if there are ways you could work together – even if it’s just promoting each other’s business to your own customers
- Carry out a business health check – make sure stock levels are effective, know what your breakeven level is, are your overheads as lean as they can be?
