The Champions Board
The Champions Board provides a platform for care experienced young people to talk directly to their corporate parents, elected members and service providers. It aims to
- ensure that decisions which affect the lives of care experienced young people are informed by their own experiences
- support care experienced young people to influence change themselves
- ensure care experienced young people can influence improvements in services and support
- provide an opportunity for care experienced young people to voice the challenges that being in care can bring and how these can be overcome with the right support
- ensure the views, opinions and aspirations of care experienced young people are central to decision-making.
The Participation Officer is part of the team involved in the Champions Board.
