English ESOL - Edinburgh College
- Community-based English classes are delivered by Edinburgh College Tutor in a community settings where black, ethnic minority, asylum seeking, refugee women are offered a safe space to learn.
- All levels, including pre-beginners to advanced.
- Free to people who are receiving housing benefit, universal credit and people with no recourse to public funds
- SQA certified.
- Well being support and councelling services are discussed if required during the intake process from the service manager. Support is available for students who are chaotic and have experienced trauma.
- Through Edinburgh College, you can apply for childcare support for students and there is a creche for their children (under seven).
- Usually classes are in person in our premises however due to COVID classes have been moved to online.
Syrian English ESOL in partnership with the City of Edinburgh Council
- Free community-based English classes are delivered by a private tutor for women in the Syrian
- Resettlement Scheme.
- Beginner level classes once a week for two hours.
- Introductory level to English with oral and written tests at the end of term however there is no certificate for this course.
- Free childcare in the creche for children under five years.
- Usually classes are in person in our premises however due to COVID classes have been moved to online.
