Changes to traffic management and site working areas between Annandale Street and York Place

Project works will commence between Blenheim Place and Greenside Lane with arrangements expected to be in place until November 2022.

This will require further changes to the existing site and traffic management arrangements in the area to progress tram works.

There are three sequences of traffic management which will enable main infrastructure and landscaping works to be undertaken. You can see the full details in our news article.

We are now entering the second sequence of works which involves a work site being established on the carriageway between Blenheim Place to Greenside Lane over the weekend of 20 / 21 August 2022.  This is to enable ducting works and the creation of new kerb lines to take place.

Once completed, footway works will commence which are scheduled to start in September 2022. Direct notification to affected businesses will take place ahead of these works.

In addition, the project will be reinstating the turn back at Picardy Place from 19 August 2022. This will improve bus and traffic movements between Broughton Street and Leith Street.
You can view details of the traffic management arrangements once these works are completed.

Third sequence:  During the final stages of works within this area the construction of a new traffic island on London Road will take place. Prior notification of these works will be communicated via the project’s communication channels.

Parking: All on-street parking has been removed in areas as required during progression of the works as there will be no on-street parking with parking enforcement being implemented. There will also be no waiting permitted from London Road for vehicles travelling city bound.
