Volunteer in social care

Current opportunities to volunteer in social care

Volunteers For Carers is a citywide project so you can choose to volunteer in your local community or in different parts of the city. Our volunteers take part in a wide variety of activities such as

  • local walks
  • visiting cafes
  • shops
  • cinema
  • going on the bus
  •  having chat and a cup of tea.

We will work with you to find you the role that will suit you most.

Befriending roles

Volunteers are matched with the individual whom they support on a regular (yet still flexible) basis. Sessions may include support at person’ home as well as outings.

Flexible roles

Flexible volunteering does not require a regular commitment from you. You can volunteer at times which suit you. You can choose to support one person or a variety of different people. We have an online system that enables you to have a full control over your volunteering

Gardening roles

Gardeners’ volunteers help people to maintain they garden when they are no longer able to do so. Tasks may include things like

  • lawn cutting
  • pruning
  • weeding
  • planting plants and bulbs.

Contact us for more information. We will be delighted to chat with you and tell you more about volunteering opportunities we have.
