Bookbug at Dr. Bell’s
Bookbug offers the chance to visit Dr Bell’s centre, bond with your little one through songs and rhymes and enjoy a little story too! Sessions run on Fridays at 9.40 am for children aged 18 months to 5 years alongside their parent/carer and at 10.30 am for children aged 0 to 18 months.

Book gifting in the community by Craigmillar Books for Babies
Craigmillar Books for Babies gift books at their events, at the local baby clinic, on home visits and as part of their literacy programmes. They also provide other resources including nursery rhyme booklets and cards, puppets and craft activities.

Home Start’s Stay and Play is for parents, carers and children aged 0 to 3 years. Enjoy play, crafts, songs and stories. Self-referrals are welcome although priority will be given to referrals from partner agencies. The group runs every Wednesday from 1.30 to 2.30 pm at
Nature Play
These fun activities are run by Trees and Seas for children under five with their carers on Wednesdays from 10 am to 12 pm. Sessions may include den building, storytelling, woodwork, bushcraft Skills, cooking or bug hunting. Sessions are free for families living in EH16 and EH17 postcodes, there is a charge of £5 for other families. Sessions run at:

Outdoor Play Rangers sessions
These play sessions are free and fun. Children can drop in and join in outdoor play activities. Games, construction tasks, messy and scrap play and all resources and support will be provided by Play Rangers. Sessions are open to all, most suited to primary-aged children. The rangers are not offering childcare so if children attend it is on the understanding that they are free to leave if they choose to.

Growing Not Waiting- One Parent Families Scotland
One Parent Family Scotland provides a safe, welcoming play space for children under 5 and offers support and advice to mothers living in temporary accommodation. They run a monthly housing rights clinic in partnership with Shelter Scotland as well as financial support, parenting advice and guidance and any other wrap-around support that may be needed regarding issues that result from the experience of living in temporary accommodation.
